Mission Bend UMC thanks Rev. Dr. Carolyn McCall-Livingston for her faithful service to Mission Bend UMC and the community surrounding our church. We hope she will enjoy retirement and continue to seek God’s direction in this next phase of her life.
Reverend Carolyn McCall announced her call to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in 1994; she was certified and licensed by the Texas Annual Conference as a local pastor in 1995. ln May 2001, she was ordained as an Elder in full connection of the Texas Annual Conference.
Her pastoral appointments began in 1995 in Conroe, Texas for two years. She served as Associate Pastor at Spring Woods UMC, then a two-point charge at Cypress UMC as an Associate Pastor and Senior Pastor at Mallalieu, then appointed to Atascocita UMC in 2001 until 2008. Pastor Livingston was then appointed to Salem United Methodist Church in Orange Texas, as the Senior Pastor from June 2008 through June 2011. She was very active in the community there with After School Children programs, Top Ladies of Distinctions (TLOD) and Orange Pastors and Ministerial Alliance. She serves on the board for the Greater Orange Area Literacy Services (GOALS) and a member of the local NAACP. She has served as a Spiritual Director of the Emmaus Community in Houston, and currently in Orange. In July 2017, she was appointed to Mission Bend United Methodist Church in Houston Texas as the Senior Pastor.
She serves currently on the Conference Board of Ordained Ministry and the Southeast District Chair for the Board of Ordained Ministry. She is a Certified Vibrant Church Initiative (VCI) Coach, and completed requirements for Intentional Interim Ministry Specialization of the United Methodist Church.
Rev. McCall-Livingston received her Master’s Degree from Southern Methodist University, Perkins School of Theology in Dallas, Texas in 1999. In June 2005, Rev McCall received her Doctor in Divinity/Theology from Cornerstone University through Immanuel Temple School of the Bible.
Reverend McCall-Livingston is very active in various women’s ministries. She has served on both local and district committees of the United Methodist Women. She led United Methodist Women Studies. She has served as a motivational and spiritual development speaker for Women’s Ministries in and around the Houston Area and the Golden Triangle. She also enjoys Mission Outreach. Her mission outreach has allowed her to travel to Belize, Jamaica, Zimbabwe, Africa, the Philippines, and the Holy Land for various mission and educational experiences. Her passion in life is to offer persons wholeness in Christ. The premises of her teaching come from, 2 Corinthians 5:11-21, a ministry of reconciliation. She enjoys teaching and preaching the uncompromised gospel of Jesus Christ.
Her favorite scripture is: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
