Stephen Ministry
If you are seeking help, please contact the church office and we will help to connect you with an active Stephen Ministry. God Bless.
In order to restart our local Stephen Ministry – we need a couple volunteers to become trained as Stephen Minister Leaders to lead this ministry and coach the individual Stephen Ministers.
We thank Monte and Connie for their long service to this ministry and wish them the best in their new ministry areas.
STEPHEN MINISTERS ARE THE CHRISTIAN CARE GIVERS.
JESUS IS THE CURE GIVER!
Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2, NRSV).
Stephen Ministry is the one-to-one lay caring ministry that takes place in congregations that use the Stephen Series system to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting.
A Stephen Minister begins a caring relationship when he or she is matched with a person experiencing a life crisis. The Stephen Minister then meets with that person on a weekly basis to listen, care, encourage, and provide emotional and spiritual support. The caring relationship lasts as long as the person is in need of care.

Some important guidelines for this caring relationship protect both the care receiver and the Stephen Minister:
- The relationship between a care receiver and a Stephen Minister is confidential.
- Men are matched with men; women with women.
- When a care receiver’s needs exceed what a Stephen Minister can provide, the Stephen Ministry team makes a referral to an appropriate mental health professional or other community resource.
