Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
Our vision is making God known through genuine, affirming relationships with people from all walks of life.
Mission Bend United Methodist Church is a rich and diverse community of faith that brings people together from all over the world. We gather people from Africa and Asia, from the Islands and Latin America, and everywhere in between. In the city of Houston, this is a unique congregation, that mirrors and celebrates the most diverse city in the United States.
This is a place where people are built up in the faith of Jesus Christ. It is a praying community, a studying and growing community, where people take their spiritual growth very seriously. It is a place where children and youth are welcome and are invited to stretch and grow, a place where you can come as you are and become more fully who God calls you to be.
And Mission Bend is actively about the work of the Holy Spirit, sending people into places near and far with God’s love. There are hundreds of stories about how we are loving and serving and being a voice for justice. There is an amazing heart for mission at Mission Bend.
So we bring and we build and we send.
