APRIL 2018 MBUMC FOCUS PRAYER
You are invited to join the Prayer Ministry team in praying this prayer.
Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live,
even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never die. Do you
believe this, Martha?” “Yes, Lord,” she told him. “I have always believed you are the
Messiah, the Son of God, the one who has come into the world from God.”
John 11:25-27 NLT
Holy Lord, I am thankful that you are the one who brings people back to life,
that you are life itself. (John 11:25 GW) As I have accepted Christ Jesus as Lord, so
help me continue to live following him. Help me depend on Christ only, drawing life
and strength from him. Just as I was taught the truth, let me continue to grow
stronger in my understanding of it. And never stop giving thanks to God.
(Colossians 2:6-7 ERV)
Since I was brought back to life with Christ, help me focus on the things that
are above—where Christ holds the highest position. Help me keep my mind on
things above, not on worldly things. I have died and my life is hidden with Christ in God.
(Colossians 3:1-3 GW)
As a person whom God has chosen and loved, help me be sympathetic, kind,
humble, gentle, and patient. Lord, please continue to help me forgive as you have
forgiven me. Above all, help me to be loving. May your peace control me, for which I
am thankful. May your Word with all its wisdom and richness live in me. I sing to
God in my heart; I sing out loud as I live. May everything that I say or do be done in
the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through you, Lord.
(Colossians 3:12,13b, 14a,c;15a,c;16a,c; 17 GW) All this I pray in Jesus’ holy name,
Amen.
Verse 1: I serve a risen Savior, he’s in the world today;
I know that he is living, whatever foes may say;
I see his hand of mercy, I hear his voice of cheer,
And just the time I need him, he’s always near.
Refrain: He lives, he lives, Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way.
He lives, he lives, salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know he lives? He lives within my heart.
