APRIL 2020 MBUMC FOCUS PRAYER
You are invited to join the Prayer Ministry team in praying this prayer.
To give a different position, course or direction; to make or become different.
This is change.
Leave all your worries with Him, because He cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7 GNT)
Holy God, you know that in our lives there are many changes in body and mind, age and wisdom; in family and friends; where we live, learn, worship and so much more. Life is a journey filled with change. Thank you, Lord, for your encouragement and direction in challenging times. God spoke to Moses who spoke His Word to all of Israel (and us) saying, “Be determined and confident. Do not be afraid…Your God, the Lord himself, will be with you. He will not fail you or abandon you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6 GNT). “When I am afraid, O Lord Almighty, I put my trust in you. (Psalm 56:3 GNT). “Whenever I am anxious and worried, you comfort me and make me glad.” (Psalm 94:19 GNT)
When we are troubled about many things, Matthew reminds us all of Jesus’ public ministry in the Sermon on the Mount saying, “Do not worry about
tomorrow; it will have enough worries of its own. There is no need to add the troubles each day brings.” (Matthew 6:34 GNT). From Jesus’ last days, John reminds us of Jesus’ words saying, “Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid. (John 14:27 GNT).
Paul reminds us of God’s Word saying, “May God, the source of hope, fill you with all joy and peace by means of your faith in him, so that your hope will continue to grow by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13 GNT). May it be so in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Lead me, Lord, lead me in thy righteousness;
Make thy way plain before my face.
For it is thou, Lord, thou Lord only that makes me to dwell in safety.
