DECEMBER 2017 MBUMC FOCUS PRAYER
You are invited to join the Prayer Ministry team in praying this prayer.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind — with all your
passion and prayer and muscle and intelligence — and love your neighbor as well as
you love yourself. (Luke 10:27 CEV/Message)
O Lord our God, you are indeed God. You are the faithful God who keeps
covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes your unfailing love on those who
love you and obey your commands. (Deuteronomy 7:9 NLT) Let us shout with joy to
the Lord, all the earth! Let us worship the Lord with gladness and come before him,
singing with joy. We acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his.
We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Lord, you are so good. Your unfailing
love continues forever, and your faithfulness continues to each generation. (Psalm 100 NLT)
God, this is how much you loved the world: You gave your Son, your one and
only Son. Why? So that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can
have a whole and lasting life. God, you didn’t go to all the trouble of sending your
Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. Your Son
came to help, to put the world right again. (John 3:16-17 MSG)
Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God.
Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love
does not know God, for God is love. This is real love—not that we loved God, but
that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. My dear
friends, if God loved us like this, we certainly ought to love each other. (1 John 4:7-8,10-11 NLT/MSG)
Let us experience again, or maybe for the first time, the celebration of Jesus’
birth. Let us honor Him simply with gentle care for those we love. In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Into my heart, into my heart, come into my heart, Lord Jesus;
Come in today, come in to stay, come into my heart, Lord Jesus.
Out of my heart, our of my heart, shine out of my heart, Lord Jesus;
Shine out today, shine out alway, shine out of my heart, Lord Jesus.
