How wonderful it is, how pleasant, for God’s people to live together in harmony!
Psalm 133:1 Good News Translation
Holy God, may we live in harmony with each other. (Romans 12:16a NLT) Let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up. (Romans 14:16a NLT) O Lord, help us to not just please ourselves. We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord. For even Christ didn’t live to please himself. May God, who gives patience and encouragement, help us to live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus. Then all of us can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to you, God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, let us accept each other just as Christ has accepted us so that God will be given glory. (Romans 15:1b-3a, 5-7 NLT)
God, since you chose us to be the holy people you love, we must clothe ourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Help us to make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends us. Lord, remembering that you forgave us, so we must forgive others. Above all, may we be clothed in love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in our hearts. For as members of one body we are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. (Colossians 3:12-15 NLT)
We thank you for your call on the lives of each one who offers their gifts to share music in this community of faith, especially Dr. Dan Kramlich, Kathy Aaron, David Coldiron, Nancy Denison, Veronica Olvera and Matt Wallace. Lord, we enjoy the fruits of their labor. Many of us love harmony in music, different musical notes played or sung at the same time to produce a pleasing effect. Let us also seek to produce a pleasing effect in our lives lived in this community. Let us seek harmony: accord, agreement, peace, friendship, fellowship, co-operation, consensus, understanding and unity. All this we ask in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me; Let there be peace on earth, the peace that was meant to be. With God our creator, children all are we. Let us walk with each other in perfect harmony. Let peace begin with me; let this be the moment now. With every step I take let this be my solemn vow: to take each moment and live each moment in peace eternally. Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me. Hymn 431, words and music by Sy Miller and Jill Jackson, 1955
