FEBRUARY 2019 MBUMC FOCUS PRAYER
You are invited to join the Prayer Ministry team in praying this focus prayer.
The Lord’s unfailing love and mercy still continue, fresh as the morning , as sure as the sunrise. (Lamentations 3:22-23 GNT)
Holy Lord, at Mount Sinai you made a covenant not only with our fathers, but with all of us who are living today. You said, “I show my love to thousands of generations of those who love me and obey my laws.” (Deuteronomy 5:2,10 GNT) Let us remember the Lord our God is the only God and that he is faithful. If we listen to his commandments and obey them faithfully, then the Lord our God will continue to keep his covenant with us and will show us his constant love. (Deuteronomy 7:9a, 12 GNT)
Job struggled to understand why God could let so much evil happen, but Job still acknowledged that God is wise and great. Job said, “ You, God, have given me life and love, your care has kept me alive.” (Job 10:12 GNT) Praise the Lord, my soul! All my being, praise his holy name! Praise the Lord, my soul, and do not forget how kind he is. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He keeps me from the grave and blesses me with love and mercy. He fills my life with good things, so that I stay young and strong like an eagle. (Psalm 103:1-
5 GNT) As high as the sky is above the earth, so great is his love for those who have reverence of him. As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our sins from us. As kind as a father is to his children, so kind is the Lord to those who honor him. (Psalm 103:11-13 GNT)
Even if I think my hope in the Lord is gone, yet hope returns when I remember this one thing: The Lord’s unfailing love and mercy still continue, fresh as the morning, as sure as the sunrise. (Lamentations 3:18,21-23 GNT) May your constant love be with us, Lord, as we put our hope in you. (Psalm 33:22 GNT) In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen
Love divine, all loves excelling, joy of heaven to earth come down;
Fix in us thy humble dwelling; all thy faithful mercies crown!
Jesus, thou art all compassion, pure, unbounded love thou art;
Visit us with thy salvation; enter every trembling heart.
