Rev. Dr. Carolyn McCall Livingston
Dear Family…
It is not good to come home and to be in the midst of “hurry up” preparation for Hurricane Harvey, a category 3 storm. Yet in preparation, this time reminds me of the faithfulness of God, even in the midst of this possible disaster. As we ride the waves, as the winds blow, the rains fall, we will not be dismayed whatever betides. For God is with us!
We acknowledge, by faith that God is bigger and more powerful than any storm on land, sea or our lives. It is my sincere prayer that all of us will be safe and cautious. I invite you to pray with me that the winds and the waves obey God’s will. Let us pray and speak to Harvey to dissolve, knowing that all power belongs to God. We pray for our protection in our immediate areas of concern as well as for others around the entire Gulf Coast. We pray for peace of mind during these days of anxiety.
I speak peace into our lives as the unrestful shore of the Gulf coast toss and turn. We pray with power and faith in the precious name of Jesus to take binding and rebuking authority and command the winds and rains of this storm to dissipate into oblivion. Lord, hear our prayers and have mercy upon us.
Forgive us, where we have failed you, and hear our prayers as we seek refuge in you and you alone. For great is thy faithfulness. The words of this song has been ringing in my ear now for two days. As your lead pastor, may the words bring you comfort, peace, refuge and hope as we pray together for God’s protection over our lives and the lives of others.
Great Is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father! There is no shadow of turning with Thee; Though changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not. As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.
Great Is Thy faithfulness, Great Is Thy faithfulness, Morning by morning new mercies I see; All I have needed Thy hand hath provided Great is Thy Faithfulness, Lord unto me!
Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest, Sun, moon, and stars in their courses above, Join with all nature in manifold witness To Thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love.
Pardon for Sin and a peace that endureth, Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide, Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
Stay alert and be safe. We will keep you posted on Church activities as we can!
Love ya much and blessings,
Pastor Carolyn
