JULY 2018 MBUMC FOCUS PRAYER
You are invited to join the Prayer Ministry team in praying this prayer.
The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. The Lord has mercy on those who respect him, as a father has mercy on his children. (Psalm 103:13 NLT/NCV)
All praise to you, God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God, you are our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. You comfort us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort you have given us. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NLT)
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In Christ, you have given us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly world. That is, in Christ, you chose us before the world was made so that we would be your holy people — people without blame before you, and it brings praise to you, God, because of your wonderful grace. You gave that grace to us freely, in Christ, the One you love. In Christ, we are set free by the blood of his death, and so we have forgiveness of sins. How rich is God’s grace, which you have given us so fully and freely. (Ephesians 1:3-8 NCV)
Dear lord and Father of mankind, forgive our foolish ways. Reclothe us in our rightful mind, in purer lives thy service find, in deeper reverence, praise. In simple trust like theirs who heard beside the Syrian sea, the gracious calling of the Lord; let us, like them, without a word rise up and follow thee.
Drop thy still dews of quietness, till all our strivings cease; take from our souls the strain and stress, and let our ordered lives confess the beauty of thy peace. Breathe through the heats of our desire thy coolness and thy balm; let sense be dumb, let flesh retire; speak through the earthquake, wind and fire, O still, small voice of calm. (H358, vs. 1,2,4,5; words-John Greenleaf Whittier, 1872; music-Frederick C. Maker, 1887)
Now all glory to God our Father forever and ever! Amen (Philippians 4:20 NLT)
