How can a young person live a pure life? By obeying your word.
Psalm 119:9 Easy to Read Version
Father God, thank you for your precious and holy word, The Bible. Help me to listen to what you say and treasure your commands. Tune my ears to wisdom and help me to concentrate on understanding. Lord, I cry out for insight and ask for understanding. Help me to search for them as I would for silver; let me seek them like hidden treasures. Then I may understand what it means to fear the Lord, and to gain knowledge of you, O God. (Proverbs 2:1-5 NLT)
For you, O Lord, grant wisdom! From your mouth come knowledge and understanding. You grant a treasure of common sense to the honest. You are a shield to those who walk with integrity. You guard the paths of the just and protect those who are faithful to you. (Proverbs 2:6-8)
Help me to understand what is right, just and fair, that I might find the right way to go. For wisdom will enter my heart, and knowledge will fill me with joy. Wise choices will wash over me. Understanding will keep me safe.(Proverbs 2:9-11)
Lord, thank you for the persons you call to Youth Ministry in this community of faith, especially Alfred Villamil, Jennifer Duke and Janet McBryde. Thank you for the faith, insight and joy you have given them. Thank you for all the helpers and parents who stand along side of Alfred, Jennifer and Janet in ministry to young people who are searching for knowledge and understanding. We thank you, God, that your truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” (Numbers 16:5) and “All who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil.” (Isaiah 52:11) [2 Timothy 2:19 NLT] As we all walk this faith journey together, Lord, bless us every one, younger and older, to seek your counsel, find a light on each path, receive your word in joy and walk in your will. This we pray in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary, pure and holy, tried and true.
With thanksgiving, I’ll be a living sanctuary for you.
