JUNE 2020 MBUMC FOCUS PRAYER
You are invited to join the Prayer Ministry team in praying this month’s focus prayer.
The ability to withstand hardship or adversity — this is endurance. How much longer will you forget me, Lord? Forever? How much longer will you hide yourself from me? How long must I endure trouble? Look at me, O Lord my God, and answer me. Restore my strength; don’t let me die. I rely on your constant love; I will be glad, because you will rescue me. I will sing to you, O Lord, because you have been good to me. (Psalm 13:1-2a,3,5-6 GNT).
Paul speaks saying, “Every test that you have experienced is the kind that normally comes to people. But God keeps his promise, and he will not allow you
to be tested beyond your power to remain firm; at the time you are put to the test, he will give you the strength to endure it, and so provide you with a way out.” (1
Corinthians 10:13 GNT) Paul continues saying, “May you be made strong with all the strength which comes from his glorious power, so that you may be able to
endure everything with patience. And with joy give thanks to the Father, who has made you fit to have your share of what God has reserved for his people in the
kingdom of light. (Colossian 1:11-12 GNT) Also Paul, “May the Lord lead you into a greater understanding of God’s love and the endurance that is given by
Christ.” (2 Thessalonians 3:5 GNT)
James teaches saying, “My friends, consider yourselves fortunate when all kinds of trials come your way, for you know that when your faith succeeds in
facing such trials, the result is the ability to endure. Make sure that your endurance carries you all the way without failing, so that you may be perfect and complete,
lacking nothing. But if any of you lack wisdom, you should pray to God, who will give it to you; because God gives generously and graciously to all. But when you
pray, you must believe and not doubt at all. (James 1:2-6a GNT)
“Lead me, Lord, lead me in thy righteousness; make thy way plain before my face.
For it is thou, Lord, thou Lord only that makes me to dwell in safety.
(H473). (Psalms 5:8, 4:8)
May it be so, in Jesus’ name, Amen
