JUNE 2021 MBUMC FOCUS PRAYER
You are invited to join the Prayer Ministry team in praying this month’s focus prayer.
Aren’t five sparrows sold for two pennies?
Yet not one sparrow is forgotten by
God. Even the hairs of your head have all been counted.
So do not be afraid; you are worth much more than many sparrows! (Luke 12:6-7 GNT)
Come and find the quiet center in the crowded life we lead.
Find the room for hope to enter, find the frame where we are freed;
Clear the chaos and the clutter,
clear our eyes that we can see all the things that really matter, be at peace, and simply be.
TFWS 2128, vs. 1 words, Shirley Erena Murray; music, attr. to B. F. White; 1992.
Why should I feel discouraged? Why should the shadows come?
Why should my heart be lonely and long for heaven and home,
When Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is he:
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me;
Refrain: His eye is on the sparrow, I know he watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me.
I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free,
For his eye is on the sparrow and I know he watches me.
Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise,
When song gives place to sighing, when hope within me dies,
I draw the closer to him, from care he sets me free:
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me; Refrain.
TFWS 2146, vs. 1,3 Words, Civilla Martin, (Luke 12:6-7, John 14:1), music, Charles H. Gabriel.
Lead me, Lord, lead me in thy righteousness;
Make thy way plain before my face.
For it is thou, Lord, thou Lord only that makes me to dwell in safety’
H473, words by Psalms 5:8, 4:8, music by Samuel Sebastian Wesley, 1861.
May it be so, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
