MARCH 2018 MBUMC FOCUS PRAYER
You are invited to join the Prayer Ministry team in praying this prayer.
O Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are the potter.
We all are formed by your hand. (Isaiah 64:8 NLT)
Loving God, we are on a journey through this season of preparation, self-
reflection and repentance. In Lent we seek to realign our lives and focus more on
you, Lord. We can choose to give up things and also take on new life-giving habits.
Some of us are seeking to become new Christians; some of us are seeking to live and
love as more faithful disciples of Jesus. Thank you, God, for helping us to rid
ourselves of distractions, and our own selfish desires.
Lord, How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from
these hidden faults; keep me from deliberate sins! Don’t let them control me. Then I
will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin. May the words of my mouth and the
meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and redeemer. (Psalm
19:12-14 NLT) Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because
of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my
guilt. Purify me from my sin. (Psalm 51:1-2 NLT) Lord, if you kept a record of sins,
who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness so that I can, with reverence,
serve you. (Psalm 130:3-4 NIV)
Blessed Redeemer, thank you for changing my way of learning, living and
loving; seeing, speaking and thinking. As you draw me closer to you, Lord, you call
me to fruitful service in your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen
Change my heart, O God; make it ever true.
Change my heart, O God; may I be like you.
You are the potter; I am the clay.
Mold me and make me; this is what I pray.
Change my heart, O God; make it ever true.
Change my heart, O God; may I be like you.
