MARCH 2019 MBUMC FOCUS PRAYER
You are invited to join the Prayer Ministry team in praying this focus prayer.
The Lord looks down from heaven on the entire human race; he looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God. But no, all have turned away; all have become corrupt (Psalm 14:2-3a NLT)
Lord, you say, “Let my people return to me. Remove every obstacle from their path! Build the road and make it ready! I am the high and holy God, who lives forever. I live in a high and holy place, but I also live with people who are humble and repentant, so that I can restore their confidence and hope. I gave my people life, and I will not continue to accuse them or be angry with them forever, for then they would die – the very people to whom I gave life. I was angry with them because of their sin and greed. They were stubborn and kept on going their own way. “I have seen how they acted, but I will heal them. I will lead them and help them, and I will comfort those who mourn. I offer peace to all, both near and far! I will heal my people.” (Isaiah 57:14-21 GNT)
“My wayward children,” says the Lord, “come back to me, and I will heal your wayward hearts.” (Jeremiah 3:22 NLT) “People of Israel, if you want to turn, then turn back to me. Keep your covenant with me, your Lord, and dedicate yourselves to me.” (Jeremiah 4:1a, 4a GNT)
In the New Testament, Paul’s letter to the Romans teaches, “But now God’s way of putting people right with himself has been revealed. It has nothing to do with law, even though the Law of Moses and the prophets gave their witness to it. God puts people right through their faith in Jesus Christ. God does this to all who believe in Christ because there is no difference at all: everyone has sinned and is far away from God’s saving presence. But by the free gift of God’s grace all are put right with him through Christ Jesus, who sets them free.” (Romans 3:21-23 GNT)
“Happy are those whose wrongs are forgiven, whose sins are pardoned! Happy is the person whose sins the Lord will not keep account of!” (Romans 4:7-8/Psalm 32:1-2 GNT)
Let us pray and sing saying,
“Lead me, Lord, lead me in your righteousness. Make thy way plain before my face.
For it is thou, Lord, thou Lord only that makes me to dwell in safety.”
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
