NOVEMBER 2018 MBUMC FOCUS PRAYER
You are invited to join the Prayer Ministry team in praying this focus prayer.
Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NLT)
We thank you, O God! We give thanks because you are near. People everywhere tell of your wonderful deeds. God says, “When the earth quakes and its people live in turmoil, I am the one who keeps its foundations firm.” (Psalm 75:1,3 NLT) Help us, O God of our salvation! Help us for the glory of your name. Save us and forgive our sins for the honor of your name. We your people, the sheep of your pasture, will thank you forever and ever, praising your greatness from generation to generation. (Psalm 79:9, 13 NLT)
Thanks be to God! For in union with Christ we are always led by God in Christ’s victory procession. God uses us to make the knowledge about Christ spread everywhere. Who is capable of such a task? We are not like so many others, who handle God’s message as if it were cheap merchandise; but because God sent us, we speak with sincerity in his presence, as servants of Christ. (2 Corinthians 2:14,16-17 GN)
If we are serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, let us act like it. Let us pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground absorbed with the things right in front of us. Let us look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. Let us see things from His perspective. (Colossians 3:1-2 Message) Let us be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for those who belong to Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:18 NLT) In Jesus’ holy name we pray, Amen.
Alleluia, alleluia! Give thanks to the risen Lord.
Alleluia, alleluia! Give praise to his name.
