NOVEMBER 2021 MBUMC FOCUS PRAYER
You are invited to join the Prayer Ministry team in praying this month’s focus prayer.
I am God Most High! The only sacrifice I want is for you to be thankful and to keep your word. The sacrifice that honors me is a thankful heart. Obey me, and I, your God, will show my power to save. (Psalm 50:14,23 CEV)
Give thanks with a grateful heart, give thanks to the Holy One: give thanks
because he’s given Jesus Christ, his Son. And now let the weak say, “I am strong”
:let the poor say, “I am rich because of what the Lord has done for us.”
Give thanks!
(TFWS 2036, words & music by Henry Smith, 1978)
Thank you, Lord, that each one of us may be part of the body of Christ, and chose to live together in peace. So let the peace that comes from Christ control our
thoughts. And let us be grateful. Let the message about Christ completely fill our lives, while we use God-given wisdom to teach and instruct one another. With
thankful hearts, let us sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God. Whatever we say or do should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, as we give thanks to
God the Father because of Christ Jesus. (Colossians 3:15-17 CEV)
Let us pay proper respect to those who work among us, who guide and instruct us in the Christian life, especially Dr. Carolyn McCall-Livingston. Let us
be at peace among ourselves. Let us be joyful always, pray at all times, and be thankful in all circumstances. God, this is what you want from us in our lives in union with Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:12-13, 16-18 GNT)
Let us pray for everyone. God, we ask you to help and bless each one. (1 Timothy 2:1 CEV). God, may we be alive and awake to your presence, may we be mindful of your plans and provisions, your wisdom and love. Let us be well pleased and thankful for your showers of blessing. With a heart full of thanks, we pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
v.1 Joyful, joyful we adore thee, God of glory, Lord of love.
Hearts unfold like flowers before thee, opening to the sun above.
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness; drive the dark of doubt away.
Giver of immortal gladness, fill us with the light of day.
Hymn 89, words-Henry Van Dyke, 1907; music-Ludwig van Beethoven, 1824.
