Give the Lord a chance to show you how good he is. Great blessings belong to those who depend on him! The Lord’s holy people should fear and respect him. Those who respect him will always have what they need. Psalm 34:8-9 ERV
Holy Lord, your word speaks. Time after time as we encounter your will and your way in scripture, Lord, we thank you for open eyes and heart and mind to receive such bountiful gifts of wisdom. The way to become wise is to honor you, Lord; you give sound judgment to all who obey your commands. Praise the Lord! Happy is the person who honors you, Lord, who takes pleasure in obeying your commands. (Psalm 111:10; 112:1 GNT)
Lord, help us to trust you with all our hearts, and never rely on what we think we know. Help us to remember you in everything we do, and you will show us the right way. Never let us think that we are wiser than you; may we simply obey you, Lord, and refuse to do wrong. If we do, Lord, it will be like good medicine, healing our wounds and easing our pains. Let us honor you, Lord, by making you an offering from the best of all our land produces. Let us honor you, God, with everything we own; to give you the first and the best. (Proverbs 3:5-9 ERV; 9 MSG)
Thank you, Lord, for the men and women who lead and work with this community of faith to help us be faithful with our tithes and offerings and gifts.
We are especially thankful for Brandee Brouwer, David Layfield, Jonathan Neubauer,
John Aaron, Steve Fowler and Mike Stovall on the Stewardship team; Monte Hyman, Rudy Lee, Mary Blondell, Tom Hugele, Randy Burkham, and Don Jeffers on the Finance team; and Eston Hupp, Harvest Ministry. Let us all walk with the Lord in the light of his word. While we do his good will, he abides with us, and with all who will trust and obey. Hallelujah! May it be so, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
When we walk with the Lord in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will, he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain: Trust and obey, for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus,
but to trust and obey.
Hymn 467, v. 1, words by John H. Sammis, 1887; music by Daniel B. Towner, 1887.
