OCTOBER 2017 MBUMC FOCUS PRAYER
You are invited to join the Prayer Ministry team in praying this prayer.
You should each give, then, as you have decided, not with regret or out of a sense of duty; for God loves the one who gives gladly. And God is able to give you more than you need, so that you will always have all that you need for yourselves and more than enough for every good cause. (2 Corinthians 9:7-8 GNT)
Generous and Holy God,
How great are your riches! How deep is your wisdom and knowledge! Who can explain your decisions? Who can understand your ways? As the scripture says, “Who knows the mind of the Lord? Who is able to give him advice?” (v.34, Isaiah 30:40) Who has ever given him anything, so that he had to pay it back?”(v.35, Job 41:11) All things were created by you, and all things exist through you and for you. To God be the glory forever! Amen. (Romans 11:33-36 GNT)
Lord, you have been so generous to us, that we cannot even name everything you have given us. You created the heavens, the earth, life and breath. (Isaiah 42:5) You give wisdom, knowledge and happiness to those who please you. (Eccl. 2:26a GNT) You are our protector and glorious king, blessing us with kindness and honor. You do not refuse any good thing to those who do what is right. (Psalm 84:11 GNT) You give strength and power to your people. (Psalm 68:35b) Most of all, Lord, we thank you for your constant love, for the wonderful things you have done for us. (Psalm 107:8 GNT)
Let us honor you with gentle care for those we love. Let us honor you, Lord, with our possessions, and with the first fruits of all our increase; Let us honor you, God, with everything we own, and let us give you the first and the best. (Proverbs 3:9 NKJ/MSG) If some of us are rich in this world, let us not be proud and not place our trust in money, which is unreliable. Let us trust in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Let us use money to do good. Let us be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. (1 Timothy 6:17-18 NLT) All this we pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Lord, you are more precious than silver. Lord, you are more costly than gold.
Lord, you are more beautiful than diamonds, and nothing I desire compares to you.
