SEPTEMBER 2019 MBUMC FOCUS PRAYER
You are invited to join the Prayer Ministry team in praying this prayer.
The Lord spoke . ..saying, “This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them, ‘The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. So they shall put My name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them.” Numbers 6:22-27 NKJV
Holy God, in the Book of Numbers You spoke through your prophet Balaam saying: “God is not like people, who lie; He is not a human who changes his mind. Whatever he promises, he does; He speaks, and it is done. I, Balaam, have been instructed to bless, and when God blesses, it cannot be called back. (Numbers 23:19-20 GNT).
Lord, you are faithful to your promises and merciful in all your acts. You help those who are in trouble; you lift those who have fallen. We look hopefully to you. (Psalm 145:13a-15a GNT). Lord, you answer our prayers and take care of us and shelter us. You are the source of all our blessings. (Hosea 14:8 GNT).
As believers who are called to bless others, let us do for others what we would have others do for us. (Matt.7:12 GNT). Much is required of those who have been given much. (Luke 12:48b GNT). As believers in God, we have been given much. Let us offer our God-given gifts to serve one another, our families and the people we meet each day.
Let us give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the merciful Father, the God from whom all help comes! He helps us in all our troubles, so that we are able to help others who have all kinds of problems, using the same help that we ourselves have received from God. Just as we have a share in Christ’s many sufferings, so also through Christ we share in God’s great help. (2 Corinthians 1:3-5 GNT) God is able to give us more than we need, so that we will always have all we need for ourselves and more than enough for every good cause. (2 Corinthians 9:8 GNT).
Let us choose the way of blessing prayers every day. (1 Peter 3;8-9 GNT) Always bless in Jesus’ name. (Numbers 6:27 GNT) Ask the Holy Spirit to lead. Give God thanks and praise for the blessings being released. (Numbers 6:27 GNT) Expect to receive a blessing. (1 Peter 3:9b GNT and 2 Corinthians 9:8 GNT) May it be so Lord, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Lord, speak to me, that I may speak in living echoes of thy tone;
As thou hast sought, so let me seek thine erring children lost and lone.
O strengthen me, that while I stand firm on the rock, and strong in thee,
I may stretch out a loving hand to wrestlers of the troubled sea.
