Jesus spoke, “I am the vine, and you are the branches. Those who remain in me,
and I in them, will bear much fruit; for you can do nothing without me. (John 15:5 GNT)
Give to the winds thy fears, hope and be undismayed.
God hears thy sighs and counts thy tears, God shall lift up thy head.
Through waves and clouds and storms, God gently clears thy way,
Wait thou God’s time; so shall this night soon end in joyous day.
H129, vs. 1,2 Words-Paul Gerhardt, 1653, translation-John Wesley, 1739, music-William H. Walter, 1894.
Be not dismayed what-e’er betide, God will take care of you.
Beneath his wings of love abide, God will take care of you.
Refrain–God will take care of you, through every day, o’er all the way;
He will take care of you, God will take care of you.
Through days of toil when heart doth fail, God will take care of you;
When dangers fierce your path assail, God will take care of you. Refrain.
No matter what may be the test, God will take care of you.
Lean weary one, upon his breast, God will take care of you. Refrain.
H130, vs. 1,2,4 Words-Civilla D. Martin, 1904, music by W. Stillman Martin, 1905.
I need thee every hour, most gracious Lord;
no tender voice like thine can peace afford.
Refrain, I need thee, O I need thee; every hour I need thee;
O bless me now, my Savior, I come to thee.
I need thee every hour, in joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide, or life is in vain. Refrain
H397, vs. 1,3 Words-Annie S. Hawks, 1872, music-Robert Lowry, 1873.
Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in his wonderful face,
And the things of earth grow strangely dim in the light of his glory and grace.
H349, Words and music: Helen H. Lemmel, 1922.
